DP World is expanding its logistics operations across Latin America
By Andrea Davila
DP World is expanding its logistics operations across Latin America, driven by nearshoring trends and rising trade between Mexico and the U.S. The company recently opened a freight forwarding hub in Mexico City and has added over 35 offices in the Americas to support growing demand. With nearly 800 logistics staff in Mexico, DP World is focusing on end-to-end supply chain solutions, including warehousing and multimodal transport. It also plans to invest $760 million to expand the Port of Caucedo in the Dominican Republic, strengthening its presence in the region’s infrastructure and trade networks.
SSAF Logistics is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend by offering specialized air freight, hazardous material handling, and intermodal transport between the U.S. and Latin America. With major players investing in infrastructure and freight forwarding hubs in Mexico, SSAF can align its services—such as airport-to-airport delivery and expedited cargo—to meet the surge in cross-border shipping needs. This shift also opens up partnership and growth opportunities for SSAF within Latin American supply chains, especially in sectors like automotive, pharmaceuticals, and e-commerce logistics.
